Hidden Fence is a great way to protect your pets! Install was done professionally and only took a day and training was provided to both me and my two dogs. “Flags” are placed along the underground wire and my dogs quickly learned not to cross the flags. The collars are battery operated and last 2+ years. Vince was very helpful and considerate of my time and making sure my dogs were comfortable. No more worries about my fur babies escaping or digging in my flower beds. Highly recommend.

The owner (Vince)showed up to my house for a consultation followed by the install a few days later. He was highly professional and arrived with clean and new equipment. The install was quick and painless with no mess to clean up. All the equipment is easy to use. After the install, he spent ample time training us and the dog on the new fence. He seems to be a natural with dogs. A few days later he came back to see how things were going and do a little more training. The dog responded well and I can leave home without him having to be stuck in the house. Vince is a very personable and flexible guy which makes it easy to schedule around everyone’s busy lives. He puts a large emphasis on customer service and is willing to do whatever it takes to make it work. I highly recommend Vince and the Dogwatch fence!

We got DogWatch in place of a very expensive fence for our new pup a year ago. Vince was informative and very helpful from day one. DogWatch is reliable and simply one of the best ways to train boundaries to your pup in a hands-on way. Vince goes out of his way to train, answer questions, and to fix any issues like a dead battery in a collar. If you are looking for a great alternative to expensive fencing that must adhere to HOA standards or a reliable training program to teach boundaries to your dog, we highly recommend DogWatch. Vince’s customer service is top notch!! I was at my wits end with worrying about the safety of my dog having just moved to a property with no fence. Having a full fence put up was out of reach for me. I spent money trying other options with no success. Finally, asking Google if “any invisible fences actually work??”, Dog Watch came up in the results. I browsed the website and was impressed with the information I found. Wanting to learn more I submitted my information. Within a couple of hours, on the weekend, Vince had called me reaching out about my inquiry. He validated my experience, sympathized, and offered reassurance that choosing Dog Watch would be the solution I was looking for. I was thankful for the prompt response time as the situation was causing me a lot of stress. When working out the best time for a consultation, he was flexible and accommodating. I felt relieved that this was in the works, and hopeful. Vince arrived for the consultation and walked me through the process of installing Dog Watch, asked about my needs and concerns to help me decide the best path for the perimeter. And then he walked me through the different packages, and how they would be beneficial for what I needed. We chose an appropriate option and discussed pricing. He was very helpful in ensuring I was able to move forward in a way that caused me less financial stress, explaining different ways I could pay. I felt confident that my choice was the right fit. Vince wound up installing the system that same day as the timing worked out. He explained installation and how the system worked. After a couple hours getting the system installed, he showed me how to use it with my dog and spent about 30-45 mins with my dog making sure she understood where the perimeter was, and teaching me how to work with her over the next week. I followed Vince’s advice, which was very easy to follow. By the end of the first week my dog knew her boundary without any testing. I was so thankful and relieved to have such a fast acting solution to train her. Vince checked in about a week after install to see how everything was going. I was thrilled to report my dog had not a single mishap. She stayed within bounds every single time she went out. It has now been a month since we’ve had the system and my dog doesn’t even need her collar anymore. She stays within the boundary regardless of if I leave it, if she sees people, or other dogs or animals. I am so incredibly pleased, I cannot say enough about the system and Vince’s service. Without his help I would still be so stressed or having to spend thousands of dollars for a physical fence on a property I don’t own. I love that she can come out in the yard with me and enjoy sunshine and I don’t have to tie her up or worry about her running off. This system is worth every penny. I highly recommend this Dog Watch system, and going through Vince as your service provider if you need invisible fence solutions. Thank you so much, Vince! 🙏🏻

I couldn’t be happier my with fence. It was in my budget and dogs quickly learned the boundary after the training from Vince and a couple days of training from my wife. Vince was professional and a pleasure to deal with. It was obvious he cared about our dogs and most importantly listened to our needs and designed a boundary that was a perfect solution. The technology is incredibly simple and installation was included.

If we think it will take any special equipment or longer we do our best to let you know in advance and we keep you in the loop during the installation too.

Train Your Pets on the New System

After the system is installed we take the time to work with you and your pets to understand how the system works. Typically, you and your pets will pick this up pretty quickly. With a little bit of training each day for the first couple of weeks, then you and your pets will be all set.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a hidden fence?

A hidden fence is an underground pet fencing system that uses a radio signal to keep your dog in a designated containment area, such as a yard; or out of an area, such as a swimming pool, patio, or garden. Hidden fences can also be used to create Indoor Boundaries that work inside your home to keep your pet off a couch, out of a room or away from a kitchen counter.

Hidden fences are often mistakenly referred to generically as “invisible fences”. Invisible Fence® is a brand name and Registered Trademark of the Invisible Fence Company.

How do hidden dog fences work?

Hidden fences are created by burying a ‘boundary wire’ a few inches underground around your property. The buried wire carries a harmless, low level radio signal from a transmitter installed in your house or garage. Your pet wears a lightweight, waterproof receiver collar that recognizes the radio signal. As your pet approaches the buried wire, the receiver collar emits a warning signal (audible or vibration). If your pet travels further, he will receive a mild but safe stimulation (also called a “correction”) from the receiver collar. Through a training program, your pet learns to recognize his fence boundaries and learns to stop at the warning signal. Although there are differences in some of the product features, this is how all hidden fences work (DogWatch®, Invisible Fence® and other radio fence brands.)

With an indoor system, the hidden wire runs around your couch, under the lip of the counter, around the trash or across a doorway or wherever you need to create either a containment area or an “off-limits” area. We also have “wireless” indoor units that do not require placement of a boundary wire. Give us a call to discuss your options.

How does my dog learn where the hidden fence boundary is?

Training is an important part of the process. After we install the hidden fence, we work with you to train your pet. The training includes teaching your pet to recognize the containment area boundaries through a combination of voice commands, audible warning signals from the receiver collar and visual flags that are set in the yard where the pet hears the warning alert. With training, the dog remembers the placement of the flags and associates the flags with the warning signal. As your pet learns, the flags are slowly taken away. Your pet also learns that if he continues beyond the flags and warning alert, he will receive a mild correction (a stimulation from the collar). After training, most dogs do not cross the hidden boundary; they usually stop before the warning signal to avoid the correction.

We will initiate the training and provide instructions and support so you can complete and reinforce the training. After the initial training, your dog goes through a training session with you for a few minutes each day for about two weeks. We will develop a plan to meet the specific training needs of your pet(s).

Will the stimulation from a hidden dog fence collar hurt my dog?

No. The “stimulation” from the collar is unpleasant, but it will not “burn” or injure your pet. It is a sensation similar to the static shock you receive after walking across a carpet in your socks. It is uncomfortable, but it does not harm you.

How much do hidden fences cost?

The cost for a DogWatch Hidden Fence is almost always much less than traditional fencing. The cost varies based on which system is right for you, the number of pets, the size of the property, how many sidewalk and driveway cuts, if you want internal “garden loops”, etc. Contact us for a free consultation and an estimate for your property.

In addition to costing less than traditional fences, hidden fences provide more flexibility and more secure containment than traditional fences. For example, you can contain your dog in your yard, but keep him out of a pool area, garden or driveway gate. Plus, your dog cannot jump over, chew through or dig under a hidden fence. And hidden fences don’t need to be painted and don’t deteriorate like traditional fences.

There usually isn’t much difference in the cost of a DogWatch® fence and other Dealer installed brands (such as Invisible Fence®.) Retail brands may seem to cost less than the Dealer installed brands, but they do not include installation (which can be challenging), training (which is very important), ongoing support or a good Warranty program. Also, Dealer installed products tend to be better quality than retail brands.

DogWatch® is not Invisible Fence®

DogWatch “hidden fences” are often mistakenly referred to generically as “invisible fences”. Invisible Fence® and Invisible Fencing® are Brand names, products and registered trademarks of Invisible Fence, Inc.

Did you know you can trade in your existing dog fence system for DogWatch®?

In most situations, we can use your existing buried wire so the installation is quick and easy. We just swap out the equipment (both the transmitter and the receiver collar) and adjust the settings so they are appropriate for your pet(s). We will determine if your pet needs any refresher training and we’ll provide that, too, if needed. And because we appreciate your business, we’ll even discount the cost of the equipment!

Our Competitive Trade-In Plan is available for Invisible Fence® Brand, PetStop®, Petsafe® Professional, Dog Guard®, and most other Dealer installed systems.
